The below modalities are the types of yoga I teach in a group class or private session:
Power Vinyasa – This form of yoga links breath to movement and incorporates faster paced flows and breathwork for a full-body workout designed to raise your heart rate. I tend to incorporate abs and/or arm balances in my flows, and while I encourage you to challenge your body and mind, you know your body best, and each shape is optional. I always provide modifications and “bus stops” to help students find their appropriate edge, build strength, and challenge what they thought they were capable of. The asanas include both standing and seated positions.
Yin – A slow paced class that guides yogis through long-held stretches, anywhere from 1-5 minutes. The intention is to gently stress our connective tissues and joints for improved mobility, as well as to tap into our parasympathetic nervous system to counteract our flight or fight response. This is a deeply meditative class. Postures are primarily done seated or laying down.
Restorative – A slow paced class with the primary goal of activating our parasympathetic nervous system, to destress and reconnect with our body. Deeply restful, this type of yoga leverages lots of props and is great for counteracting busy schedules and restless minds. Also a deeply meditative option, postures are primarily seated or laying down.
YinYasa - A combination of Vinyasa and Yin, an approachable evenly paced Vinyasa flow that gently transgresses into yin postures. Great for the yogi looking for the best of both worlds.
Fusion – Everyone teaches fusion slightly different, which always makes it an exciting class to take! I structure this like a vinyasa class, but incorporates many Hatha poses from the traditional 26+2 flow. We may flow between poses, but I will not cue a “vinyasa flow” (high plank, chatturanga, up-dog, down-dog) in between sequences, although you are always encouraged to make a practice your own. It’s a very approachable class that will still raise your heart rate!
Reiki is a Japanese healing technique that promotes balance, stress relief, and overall well-being by gently guiding the flow of life force energy throughout the body.
I practice Usui Reiki, which is rooted in the belief that we all carry a vital life force energy within us. This concept is shared across many Eastern traditions—known as prana in yoga and chi in Chinese medicine. We feel our best when this energy flows freely within us. However, emotional experiences, habits, self-limiting beliefs, and stress can cause it to become stagnant or imbalanced, which may manifest as anxiety, depression, grief, or even physical discomfort.
During a Reiki session, the practitioner uses light touch or hovers their hands just above the body to channel high-vibrational energy to the recipient. This helps restore energetic flow and harmony. Scientific studies have shown that Reiki can reduce cortisol levels—the hormone associated with stress—and many people report feeling deeply relaxed and calm afterward.
Reiki works as a beautiful complement alongside Western medicine treatments. In fact, many hospitals incorporate Reiki practitioners into their care teams to support patients with chronic conditions and emotional healing.
Each session with me is intuitively guided, including a mix of clearing energetic blockages, restoring balance and harmony, and sharing any spirit guide and angel messages that may come through for the client's greatest good.
